Recent advance incompressible MHD modeling, numerics and analysis





报告摘要As an important branch of modern physics, Magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) has close connections in technical sciences such as plasma physics, metal liquids, astrophysics, metallurgy, aerospace, and controlled thermonuclear fusion. Especially in recent years, MHD has received great attention as a research foundation in multiple key cutting-edge application fields. This report mainly introduces some recent works on models of incompressible MHD and their numerical methods, including the modeling and numerical analysis of thermally driven MHD, two-phase MHD, vector potential MHD model models, as well as some challenging computational problems driven by applications.

报告学者简介毛士鹏,中科院数学与系统科学研究院研究员、博士生导师,中科院大学岗位教授。2008年博士毕业于中科院数学与系统科学研究院,2008-2012先后在在法国国家信息自动化研究院(INRIA)以及在瑞士苏黎世高工(ETH Zurich)做博士后和研究助理,2008-2019年在中科院数学与系统科学研究院分别任助理研究员和副研究员,2019年升任研究员。在包括有限元方法,自适应方法,计算流体力学和磁流体力学等领域取得一系列重要成果,在 Math. Comp., Numer. Math.、SIAM系列,M3AS 等杂志上发表论文80余篇。
